17. ARIZONA@WORK MARICOPA COUNTY LOCAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PLAN 2016-2020 MODIFICATION Approve the ARIZONA@WORK Maricopa County Local Workforce Development Plan Modification for 2016-2020. The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires each local workforce development board submit plan modifications at the end of the first 2 year period of the 4 year local plan, in partnership with the chief elected official, to ensure a comprehensive relevant plan is in place reflecting current and projected needs of the workforce system consistent with the State plan and in compliance with WIOA Title I Policy Broadcast - PB#18-018 Local Plan Modifications. Maricopa County, excluding the City of Phoenix, is the designated local workforce development area under WIOA. The Maricopa County Workforce Development Board is established and receives its authority in accordance with the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) signed in to law July 22, 2014 as Public Law 113-28.
