and stating that the staff recommendation is approval.
QUESTIONS FROM COMMITTEE
Committee Member Olivas asked about the City’s standards for HP properties in
relation to the City-owned Duppa-Montgomery Adobe House. Mr. Weight replied that
the City has hired a firm to begin preservation efforts of that building and it is currently
in design phase.
Committee Member Panetta asked if renovation funds are impacted by HP
designation. Mr. Weight replied that funding is available for HP designated properties,
and that is often an incentive to pursue the designation. Ms. Olivas asked for
clarification on ownership of the Kunz-Carbajal House. Mr. Weight replied that the
owner of this property also owns that building.
Committee Member Starks asked for clarification on the color shown on one of the
building facades. Mr. Weight replied that the color may have been added recently, but
the current owner purchased the property with the last year.
