RE: Z-9-23-5

The Violence Impact Project Coalition is pleased to provide this letter of support for this
rezoning case. Derek Stana met several times with community leaders along with Lisa
Huggins Hubbard of the Neighborhood Services Department to discuss community
priorities and safety enhancements for this project. Ms. Hubbard advised the applicant
on CPTED procedures, all of which the applicant has incorporated into his development
plan.
As outlined in the staff report, Item #13 addresses the 27th Avenue “To Do List.” This
project supports the goals of the “To Do List” including the stipulation requiring Phase
One of the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program. We also support all of the stipulations
as outlined in the staff report.
This project will help to attain our vision for an Active, safe, and welcoming community
with vibrant retail and sustainable housing. We encourage the Village, Planning
Commission and City Council to approve this application.
Sincerely,
Jeff Spellman
