3/30/2023 OVR Vehicle Purchase Request Request Maricopa County Department of Public Health – Office of Vital Registration’s (OVR) requests the addition of one fleet vehicle for execution of program activities. Justification Maricopa County Department of Public Health – Office of Vital Registration requests to add a vehicle to support and meet its increased demand for mandated service-related activities. The OVR uses vehicles to sustain its field program that supports hundreds of funeral establishments, licensed healthcare facilities and educational institution’s training and compliance needs within the County and with the State of Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS). The Development and Compliance team will utilize this vehicle daily to support the OVR’s five office locations to meet the OVR’s mandated functions by ensuring compliance, maintain quality controls and ensure that staff, partners, and stakeholders deliver excellent customer service to Maricopa County residents. The OVR is requesting to add one fleet vehicle to allow for the ever-demanding need of onsite field training of its various partners and stakeholders who share a mandated role in the vital records process. This shared role is essential and must be accomplished within hours or a few days of a vital event occurrence so that the families that rely heavily upon these vital records may obtain certified copies from our multiple locations as they need them. The various partner groups that share in this mandated function have experienced significant turn over in their respective industries and as such, much of the knowledge has been lost requiring significant education and training of the remaining or new partners to this process.
