A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA, 
DECLARING PORTIONS OF ROADWAY EASEMENTS TO BE UNNECESSARY FOR PUBLIC 
PURPOSES AND EXTINGUISHING THOSE PORTIONS.
RESOLUTION OF THE MARICOPA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS EXTINGUISHING RIGHT-
OF-WAY HELD BY EASEMENT PURSUANT TO A.R.S. § 28-7214.
WHEREAS, A.R.S. § 28-7214 authorizes a county board of supervisors to extinguish right-of-
way, provided the county does not hold such right-of-way by fee title; and 
WHEREAS, Maricopa County holds right-of-way by easement pursuant to an Arizona State Land 
Lease, dated October 26, 1960, and recorded in the Office of the Maricopa County Recorder in 
instrument 1960-0089104 (“EASEMENT”); and
WHEREAS, Maricopa County holds right-of-way by easement pursuant to an Arizona State Land 
Lease, dated March 29, 1960, and recorded in the Office of the Maricopa County Recorder in instrument 
1960-0038859 (“EASEMENT”); and
WHEREAS, the easement areas to be extinguished are described to wit:
LEGAL DESCRIPTION

Area 1:
A portion of land as described in recorded instrument 1960-0089104, Maricopa County Records, situate 
in General Land Office (G.L.O.) Lot 1 of Section 6, Township 1 South, Range 8 West of the Gila and Salt 
River Base and Meridian, Maricopa County, Arizona.  Said portion of land being more particularly 
described as follows:
The East 65 feet of said Lot 1. 
EXCEPT the North 65 feet thereof.
Along with the following described area of land:
Area 2:
A portion of land as described in recorded instrument 1960-0038859, Maricopa County Records, situate 
in the South Half of Section 5, Township 1 South, Range 8 West of the Gila and Salt River Base and 
Meridian, Maricopa County, Arizona.  Said portion of land being more particularly described as follows:
The East 100 feet, the West 100 feet and the North 40 feet of the South Half of said Section 5.
EXCEPT the South 100 feet thereof.
General Vicinity: W Baseline Rd and 491st Ave. Supervisorial District 5.

A map or plat of the roadway to be extinguished is attached; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Maricopa County Department of Transportation has advised that 
said right-of-way is not necessary to provide a public highway and is, therefore, no longer needed by the 
County; and
WHEREAS, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has determined that the portions of 
easements are not necessary to provide a public highway, are no longer needed by the County and may 
be extinguished.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it Resolved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors that its Chair 
execute this Resolution evidencing the determination by the Board that the portions of easements are not 
necessary to provide a public highway and are, therefore, no longer needed by the County, and that the 
portions of easements referenced herein are hereby extinguished pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-7214; and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board record this Resolution in the Office of the 
Maricopa County Recorder to provide public notice of the extinguishment of these portions of easements 
pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-7214.
