Council to take action on Resolution No. 73-26 approving the Arizona 9-1-1 Program Funding Assistance
Agreement between the State of Arizona, acting through the Arizona Department of Administration and
the City of Buckeye; and authorizing the City Manager to execute and deliver said Grant Agreement on
behalf of the City of Buckeye.

SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In 2024, the City of Buckeye Police Department upgraded their Public Safety Answering Point Next
Generation 9-1-1 communications through a co-operative agreement with AT&T. This grant funding will
support Next Generation 9-1-1 services through AT&T.
BENEFITS:
The objective is to support the community and the Buckeye Police Department by sustaining their safety
and communications through the continuation of the Public Safety Answering Point Next Generation 9-1-
1 communications system. This system allows interconnection with the multitude of emergency response
organizations statewide and enhancement of communication capabilities.
FUTURE ACTION:
After all grant funds have been expended within the 12-month grant period of performance, the City of
Buckeye will fund any other related costs from the General Fund as currently budgeted, unless
alternative funding opportunities arise, which the Grants Team will pursue.
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
The grant fund amount is $152,000, which is included in the budget. There is no required match from the
City.
