Council to take action on the Construction Contract (No. 32600228) between the City of Buckeye, an
Arizona municipal corporation, and Hunter Contracting Co., an Arizona corporation; and authorize the
City Manager to execute and deliver said Contract on behalf of the City of Buckeye.

SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Staff issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) seeking bids from qualified contractors for construction services
related to the Central Wastewater Reclamation Facility (CWRF) Basin A and Effluent Station
Rehabilitation. After comprehensive review of the four submittals, staff is recommending this Contract
with Hunter Contracting Co. based on their bid response to the IFB. Under this contract Hunter
Construction Co. will perform the rehabilitation of Basin A and the Effluent Station in an amount not to
exceed $2,324,796. Rehabilitation activities will include installing new mixing pumps and associated
equipment, valves, sensors, sluice gates, and a replacement blower. This equipment has reached the
end of its service life and requires replacement to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of services.

Maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring reliable delivery of service.

This project, not to exceed $2,324,796, is part of the approved FY2027 budget under CIP Project No.
106860: Central WRF Improvements.
