RESOLUTION NO. 55-26 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE, ARIZONA, APPROVING THE 2026 LIBRARY SERVICES 
TECHNOLOGY ACT (LSTA) SUBGRANT AWARD THROUGH THE ARIZONA 
STATE LIBRARY, ARCHIVES AND PUBLIC RECORDS, A DIVISION OF THE 
ARIZONA SECRETARY OF STATE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER 
TO ACCEPT SAID SUBGRANT AWARD ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Buckeye Community Services Department seeks to develop and 
implement a makerspace program; and  
 
WHEREAS, the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Record 2026 LSTA Subgrant 
Award in the amount of $38,240, with an in-kind match in the amount of $48,318.40 from the 
City of Buckeye (“2026 LSTA Subgrant Award”) will be used to acquire makerspace equipment 
and materials to support hands-on learning opportunities that introduce participants to advanced 
technology, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM)-based tools, 
and creative skill development programs at the Buckeye Public Library – Coyote Branch; and  
 
WHEREAS, the City’s in-kind match will consist of the time and efforts of three (3) 
Buckeye Public Library staff members to manage the makerspace program. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona, as follows: 
 
Section 1. 
The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein.   
 
Section 2. 
The Assurances and Certifications for 2026 Arizona LSTA Subgrant 
Award (“Assurances”) are hereby approved in the form on file with the City Clerk and are 
incorporated herein by reference. 
 
Section 3. 
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and deliver the 
Assurances and to accept the 2026 LSTA Subgrant Award on behalf of the City; and, further, 
the Mayor, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to 
execute all documents and other necessary or desirable instruments and to take all steps 
necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution. 
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona,
