RESOLUTION NO. 57-26 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE, ARIZONA, APPROVING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 BULLETPROOF 
VEST PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM GRANT AWARD BETWEEN THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE, AN ARIZONA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND THE UNITED 
STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE. 
 
WHEREAS, the Buckeye Police Department has a vest replacement program to 
accommodate the expiring useful life cycle of bulletproof vests to prioritize personnel safety by 
providing non-expired and effective safety equipment; and 
 
WHEREAS, the proposed U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance 
(“DOJ”) fiscal year 2025 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program Grant (“Grant”) regarding 
bulletproof vests (“BPV”) covers 50% of the acquisition cost of bulletproof vests over a 12-month 
period in the amount of $16,149.73 with a $16,149.73 required match from the City. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona, as follows: 
Section 1. 
The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein. 
Section 2. 
That certain Grant award in the amount of $16,149.73 is hereby approved. 
Section 3. 
The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the Grant award on behalf 
of the City; further, the Mayor, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk are hereby authorized 
and directed to execute all documents and other necessary or desirable instruments and to take all 
steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this Resolution. 
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona, this 
16th day of June, 2026.
