SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Safeway #370 is requesting approval for a Series 09 (Liquor Store) and Sampling Privilege Liquor
License Application for their business located at 1535 N. Verrado Way in Buckeye. The application and
public notice were legally posted and the application has been reviewed and approved by required
departments. The business is located in the Buckeye Planning area and will pay Buckeye taxes. Title 4
of the Arizona Revised Statutes does not require the consideration of liquor licenses to be held in a
public hearing or listed on the Non-Consent Agenda. A sampling privilege liquor license permits certain
licensed retail establishments to offer complimentary samples of alcoholic beverages to customers on
their premises, under specific conditions.
BENEFITS:
The city will collect sales tax and revenue from liquor sales.
FUTURE ACTION:
After Council approval, the application will be forwarded by the City Clerk's Office to the Arizona
Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for final approval.
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
The city will continue to collect sales tax and revenue from liquor sales.
