RESOLUTION NO. 45-26 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BUCKEYE, 
ARIZONA, 
APPROVING 
THE 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT 
BETWEEN THE CITY OF BUCKEYE, CITY OF AVONDALE, CITY OF 
GOODYEAR, AND MARICOPA COUNTY TO CONTINUE OPERATING 
THE WEST VALLEY SEX TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE. 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Buckeye, City of Avondale, City of Goodyear, and Maricopa 
County Sheriff’s Office seek ways to improve public safety by strengthening regional efforts to 
identify and rescue victims of sex trafficking, hold offenders accountable, and coordinate victim 
centered services; and 
WHEREAS, by entering the proposed agreement, the City of Buckeye, City of Avondale, 
City of Goodyear, and Maricopa County will be able to improve public safety by allowing 
agencies to share resources, training, and investigative expertise to more effectively identify and 
assist victims of sex trafficking; and 
 
WHEREAS, the parties are authorized and empowered by provisions of their respective 
laws and A.R.S. § 11-951, et seq., and A.R.S. § 13-387 to enter into this Agreement. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona, as follows: 
Section 1. 
The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein. 
Section 2. 
Intergovernmental Agreement for Participation in the West Valley Sex 
Trafficking Task Force is hereby approved in substantially the form and substance on file with 
the City Clerk and is incorporated herein by reference. 
Section 3. 
The Mayor, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk are hereby 
authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this 
Resolution. 
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona 
on the 19th day of May, 2026.
