Scope of Work
The Downtown String Light Pilot Project will design and install a temporary overhead lighting system along Monroe Avenue in the downtown 
corridor somewhere between 1st Street/Miller Road and 9th Street. Goals of this pilot project are to enhance the pedestrian experience, support 
local businesses, and improve nighttime visibility. The project includes a design review/assessment/feasibility, procurement and installation of 
commercial-grade poles and string lights, as well as coordination with local businesses. This pilot project will address string light system 
installation, performance, and maintenance to help guide the City as it expands this project with the goal of having permanent implementation 
throughout the entire Monroe Avenue corridor as this are becomes fully developed per the City's approved Downtown Specific Area Plan 
(DSAP).
Justification
By improving ambient lighting levels and visual continuity, the project supports the DSAP’s goals of creating a more vibrant, walkable, and 
welcoming downtown environment.
