2. Approval of Minutes from March 25, 2026
Haylee Mosher motioned to approve the minutes with suggested edits from the March 25, 2026,
BYC meeting, Lamarion Buie seconded. Approved unanimously.
3. Leadership Activity
Each council member shared a quote from a leader who has inspired them, along with a brief
explanation of why that quote was meaningful to them. The activity highlighted different
perspectives on leadership, values, and personal motivation within the council.
4. Subcommittee Debrief
Isabelle discussed the Compassion Clinic event, reflecting on its successes and suggesting
improvements for future years, particularly around organization and communication.
Haylee Mosher shared updates from the Spring Celebration, noting that communication was a
key challenge and area for improvement moving forward.
Raelynn Miller suggested creating subcommittees as new events arise to improve structure and
efficiency in planning.
Savannah emphasized the importance of increasing advocacy efforts and continuing to
strengthen youth voice and engagement across initiatives.
5. D.C. Presentation
Members presented a video recap of those who attended the D.C. trip, highlighting key
experiences, photos, and takeaways from the visit. Council members shared what they learned
throughout the trip and reflected on its impact. Following the presentation, there was a brief
discussion where members asked questions about what was seen, personal experiences, and
memorable moments from the trip.
6. Removal of Buckeye Youth Council
A unanimous motion was made to remove Alexis Grimaldi and Harlow Johnson from
membership in the Buckeye Youth Council.
7. BYC Rules, Structures, and Procedures Discussion
All Youth Council members reviewed and discussed key points from the “Structures, Rules and
Procedures to Establish and Operate the Buckeye Youth Advisory Commission” document as
well as the “Buckeye Youth Council Handbook.” The council engaged in deliberation on
potential updates, edits, and clarifications to both documents in preparation for possible voting
at the next General Meeting.
8. Upcoming Volunteer Events
Lena Erickson shared the volunteer opportunity tracking sheet with the Youth Council and
discussed upcoming events.
9. Comments from the Buckeye Youth Council members
There being no further business to discuss, Lena Erickson adjourned the meeting at 7:29 PM
