Council to take action to adopt the City of Buckeye Transportation Safety Plan (TSP).
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE STRATEGIC PLAN FOCUS AREAS:

SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The TSP is focused on improving roadway safety by reducing fatalities and serious injuries (KSI crashes)
while positioning the City to pursue federal funding through the Safe Streets 4 All (SS4A) program. The
TSP follows federal requirements and serves as a foundation for securing reimbursement-based grant
opportunities.
The TSP takes a comprehensive, multimodal approach that considers the needs of all roadway users,
including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, motorists, and commercial vehicle operators. It
emphasizes collaboration and public engagement to promote a shared culture of safety and encourage
community involvement. 
Through data-driven analysis, the TSP identifies high-risk locations and conditions, recommend targeted
safety improvements, and prioritize those improvements based on effectiveness, cost efficiency,
community priorities, and equity. The TSP will also establish an implementation and management
framework to support long-term success. Ultimately, the plan will guide future investments in safety
improvements, maintenance, enforcement, and education efforts as the city continues to grow. 
BENEFITS:
The TSP will create a safer, more efficient transportation network by reducing serious crashes,
prioritizing data-driven improvements, and positioning the City for future federal funding opportunities.
FUTURE ACTION:
There are no immediate future City Council actions associated with the approval of the TSP. There will
be future City Council approvals of grant opportunity pursuits to improve roadway safety within the City.
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
There is no financial impact associated with adoption of the TSP although it will drive decisions which
have a financial impact in the future as well as allow for potential grant funding of safety elements.
