RESOLUTION NO. 32-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BUCKEYE, ARIZONA, APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE RATE SCHEDULE
FOR WATER AND WASTEWATER RATES, RATE COMPONENTS, FEES, OR
SERVICE
CHARGES
SET
FORTH
IN
THE
DOCUMENT
ENTITLED
“SCHEDULE OF FEES;” SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND REPEALING
CONFLICTING RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Ariz. Rev. Stat. § 9-511.01(A)(1), a written report
entitled “2025 Water and Wastewater Rate Study Report” has been prepared that aims to right-
size rate structures, helps establish a reliable rate cycle, and implements rates to support
healthy water and wastewater enterprise funds without creating a burden for customers (the
“Report”); and
WHEREAS, a copy of the Report has been made available to the public by filing a copy
in the office of the City Clerk and posting on the City’s website at least thirty (30) days prior to
the public hearing on the proposed increase in water and wastewater rates, rate components,
fees, or service charges; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Ariz. Rev. Stat. § 9-511.01(A)(2), a Notice of Intent to
increase water and wastewater rates, rate components, fees, or service charges for the City’s
water and wastewater utility services was adopted by motion at the February 3, 2026 Council
meeting and City staff published the Notice of Intent adopted by the Council not less than twenty
(20) days before the public hearing date; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have determined that the rates and charges are
just and reasonable.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona, as follows:
Section 1.
The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2.
The City Council hereby approves and adopts the Report.
Section 3.
The water and wastewater rates, rate components, fees, or service
charges set forth in the “Schedule of Fees,” attached as Exhibit A attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference, are hereby adopted.
Section 4.
The “Schedule of Fees” will go into effect on June 4, 2026. Future rate
adjustments will occur on January 1, 2027, January 1, 2028, and January 1, 2029.
Section 5.
That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with the provisions of
this resolution are hereby repealed.
Section 6.
That the Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk, and City Attorney are hereby
authorized and directed to execute all documents and take all steps necessary to carry out the
purpose and intent of this Resolution.
