Project Description:   
 
The City of Buckeye Public Works Department needs one new PM-10 Certified Street Sweeper to 
ensure Buckeye’s streets are free of debris that may be harmful to the environment and humans. 
Buckeye Public Works seeks to replace one of its current street sweepers that is reaching the end of its 
useful life, as well as expand its current street sweeping service area, as more streets have been added 
to the City’s portfolio. The street sweeper will service arterial, collector, and residential roadways. The 
grant award amount is $438,111 with a required City match of $35,199. The total cost is $473,310.

Plans Once Grant Expires:  
 Any additional street sweeper needs will come from Buckeye Public Works’ Budget account unless 
additional grant funding opportunities become available, in which the Grants team will pursue.  
Objectives and Expected Outcomes  
 
The street sweeper will support Buckeye Public Works’ Street Sweeping program by adding a new 
PM-10 Certified Street Sweeper to the 7 current street sweepers in their fleet and replacing an 8-
year-old street sweeper. The new replacement and expansion sweeper will initially reduce 
maintenance costs, which, as of 9/24/25, Buckeye Public Works has spent $99,030.34 for labor, 
parts, and outside labor to keep the 2017 sweeper running. The 2017 sweeper has been out of 
service 35% of the time within the last 12 months, and the replacement sweeper will reduce 
these downtimes. If awarded, the additional sweeper will ensure that Buckeye Public Works can 
continue to provide excellent service to the community by removing harmful debris from 
Buckeye’s streets.
