ACTION/MOTION: (This language identifies the formal motion to be made by the Council) 
Council to take action on Resolution No. 35-26 approving the Second Amendment to Intergovernmental
Agreement (ADOT CAR No.: IGA 18-0007032-I) between the City of Buckeye, an Arizona municipal
corporation, and the State of Arizona Department of Transportation, relating to improvement to I-10
between State Route 85 and Verrado Way; and authorizing the Mayor to execute and deliver said
Amendment to said Agreement.

SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The City of Buckeye will assume responsibility for the signal timing, maintenance and operational
responsibility for the traffic signals at the I-10/Verrado Way interchange.
BENEFITS:
With the assumption of the traffic signal timing and operation of the traffic signals, the City will be able to
adjust the traffic signal operation to more efficiently move Buckeye residents and visitors through the
Verrado Way interchange with I-10.
FUTURE ACTION:
There should not be any future action by City Council regarding this Amendment No. Two to the IGA
between the City and State of Arizona acting by and through the Arizona Department of Transportation
(ADOT).
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
The added financial impact will be the maintenance of the traffic signals which could include replacing
equipment damaged by weather or vehicles and replacing items as they reach their useful life. The
additional cost is expected to be covered by the existing budget for traffic signal maintenance. If
additional budget becomes necessary, it will be requested through the normal budget process.
CURRENT FISCAL YEAR TOTAL COST:
There currently is no fiscal year cost associated with the maintenance and operation of the traffic signals
as ADOT is completing the work. The maintenance of the traffic signals would be completed by current
Public Works Traffic Signal staff. The operation and adjustment of traffic signal timings would be
completed by existing Program Management Office - Transportation Staff.
