Office for Victims of Crime Fiscal Year 2025 Enhanced Collaborative Model Task Force to Combat Human 
Trafficking $700,000 Grant Application Grant Summary Recap 
Project Description:   
 The Buckeye Police Department (BPD) seeks to combat human trafficking through the formation of 
an Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (AHTTF), composed of two sworn Detectives and one civilian 
Intelligence Analyst. The AHTTF will cover Buckeye’s 640 square mile jurisdiction, in which US 
Interstate 10 and Arizona State Route 85 serve as major transportation/trafficking corridors through 
BPD’s jurisdiction. BPD formed an anti-human trafficking coalition with the Cities of Avondale and 
Goodyear, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Southwest Family Advocacy Center. While 
this coalition has experienced significant victories, the fight against human trafficking requires 
additional human resources.

Plans Once Grant Expires:  
  If awarded, the Buckeye Police Department will have the option to fund, reduce, or eliminate ongoing 
personnel costs in the Police General Fund Operating Budget, once all grant funding has been 
expended. 
 
Objectives and Expected Outcomes  
 By adding dedicated personnel, the Buckeye Police Department expects to more effectively respond 
to and combat human trafficking in this part of the metro Phoenix area.
