SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Buckeye Police Department understands the importance of protecting individual rights while
maintaining public safety. To that end, we want to assure the council and our community that we have
robust internal policies and procedures governing the use of surveillance technologies.
These policies are designed to ensure responsible use for legitimate law enforcement purposes only.
Every deployment and application of these tools is guided by clear standards that prioritize transparency,
accountability, and compliance with all applicable laws.
Additionally, the department conducts regular audits to track and review usage, ensuring that all activities
remain within the scope of approved practices. Access to these systems is restricted to authorized
personnel and partner agencies, and is limited to purposes directly related to public safety and criminal
investigations. Our commitment is to balance the need for effective policing with the community’s
expectation of privacy. By adhering to these governance measures, we aim to maintain trust and
demonstrate that technology is being used responsibly and ethically.
