Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CITY OF BUCKEYE’S DEVELOPMENT OF A FIVE-
YEAR CONSOLIDATED PLAN AND CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Buckeye, Arizona (the “City”) will hold a public hearing on
Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber Room located at 530 E. Monroe Ave,
Buckeye, Arizona with access available online via videoconference technology, with the link to be available
on the City’s website at www.buckeyeaz.gov.

The intent of this public hearing is to collect input on housing and community development challenges and
needs in the City to help inform how the City will administer the Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) program, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.

In 2026, the City anticipates receiving approximately $500,000 in HUD funds. Prior to receiving the HUD
funds, the City must develop a Five-Year Consolidated Plan, which sets priorities for allocating those funds
among housing and community development activities (e.g., public services, economic development
initiatives, and infrastructure improvements). This public hearing will also allow participants to review and
comment on the City’s Citizen Participation Plan, which outlines how the City will engage the community
during the development of the Five-Year Consolidated Plan.

The Five-Year Consolidated Plan is designed to help local jurisdictions assess affordable housing needs
and market conditions, and to make data-driven, place-based investment decisions. The consolidated
planning process serves as the framework for a community-wide dialogue to identify housing and
community development priorities that align and focus funding from the Community Planning and
Development (CPD) formula block grant programs, including the CDBG program.
