Tohono O’odham Grant-In-Aid Summary Recap 
Project Description:   
The City of Buckeye has been awarded a Grant-In-Aid by the Tohono O’odham Nation. The total grant 
request and award is $54,033.12. There is no required match from the City. The purpose of the grant is 
to purchase and utilize lifesaving extrication equipment for the Buckeye Fire – Medical - Rescue 
Department (BFD).

Plans Once Grant Expires:  
•  After Buckeye has exhausted the funding, there will be no further action required for this grant. 
 
 
Objectives and Expected Outcomes  
• The objective is to provide the community with excellence and care through this much-needed 
lifesaving extrication equipment. 
• The expected outcome is reduced response times in cases where extrication equipment is needed 
due to redundancy of equipment in multiple locations. 
• Another expected outcome is more lives saved, as BFD will be better equipped to swiftly care for the 
entire City of Buckeye without delay.
