RESOLUTION NO. 06-26 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE, 
ARIZONA, 
APPROVING 
THE 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF BUCKEYE AND MARICOPA COUNTY 
TO 
IDENTIFY 
THE 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
OF 
THE 
RESPECTIVE 
GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES FOR WATSON ROAD FROM VAN BUREN 
STREET TO SKYLINE PARK. 
WHEREAS, pursuant to A.R.S. § 11-251 and § 28-6701, et seq., the City of Buckeye 
(“City”) and Maricopa County (“County”) desire to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement 
(“Agreement”) to identify the responsibilities of the City and the County for Watson Road; and 
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Agreement, Watson Road is an arterial roadway that is 
located in easements that are not within the city limits of the City; and 
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Agreement, the City shall be responsible and liable for the 
operations and maintenance of the subject roadway and all associated assets pursuant to the 
terms of the Agreement; and 
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Agreement, the County shall not be responsible for 
maintaining or operating the subject roadway. 
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Buckeye, Arizona, as 
follows: 
 
Section 1. 
The recitals above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth herein. 
 
Section 2. 
The Agreement between the City and County is hereby approved. 
 
Section 3. 
The Mayor, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk are hereby 
authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to cause the execution and delivery of the 
Agreement and all documents and other necessary or desirable instruments connected with 
the Agreement and to take all steps necessary to carry out the purpose and intent of this 
Resolution.
