Council to take action on Resolution No. 03-26 approving Amendment No. 1 to the Intergovernmental
Agreement (IGA) between the State of Arizona, by and through its Department of Transportation and the
City of Buckeye, to remove the scope of work related to the Warner Street Bridge.
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
State Route 85 (SR 85) is a four lane divided roadway from Interstate 10 south across the Gila River.
The existing IGA between the State of Arizona and then Town of Buckeye included the construction of
the East and West Connector roadways north of Broadway Road and the construction of a bridge over
the SR 85 along the Warner Street alignment. The East and West Connector roadways were completed
by the Town years ago. The construction of the bridge was to be a joint project between the City,
Developer and Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The Developer has decided they no
longer desire to install the bridge due to changes in the remaining portions of their development. ADOT
and the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) have reallocated the funding associated with the
Warner Street Bridge to the SR 85/Broadway Road intersection improvements (scheduled for
construction in MAG FY 28).
BENEFITS:
This is an amendment to a previously approved IGA, as such there is no tangible benefit associated with
the approval of this IGA Amendment No. One.
FUTURE ACTION:
There will not be any future action as this is an amendment to an existing IGA, to remove reference to
the construction of the Warner Street Bridge over SR 85.
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
There will not be any financial impact with this Amendment No. One to the IGA.

CURRENT FISCAL YEAR TOTAL COST:
There will not be any current fiscal year impact with this IGA Amendment No. One.

There is no funding with this IGA Amendment.
