Why is the update needed?
• Since completion of the previous TMP is 2019, 
the following changes have occurred:
Modifications to the General Plan Land Use 
Element
Changes to the adopted roadway facility types 
(number of lanes) 
Changes in roadway network connectivity
Need to modify truck route guidance
Completion of the City’s Bicycle & Pedestrian 
Master Plan

Why do these changes matter?
The changes significantly affect future 
travel demands and routing of traffic.  
Knowing these changes enables staff to:
Right-size the roadway network
Accurately depict future roadway centerlines
Effectively communicate with developers
Apply for MAG funding
