Application Summary Recap 
Project Description:   
The City of Buckeye requests $495,000 for the creation of a roadway Design Concept Report for the Sun 
Valley Parkway Corridor and Interstate-10 interchange. The Design Concept Report is the first step in 
improving and enhancing safety at the Sun Valley Parkway Corridor and Interstate 10 interchange in 
anticipation of the projected traffic growth. If awarded, once the Design Concept Report has been 
completed, Buckeye will proceed with planning, design, right-of-way, utility relocation, if needed, and 
construction activities listed within the Design Concept Report.

Plans Once Grant Expires:  
 
If awarded, the Award Agreement will be presented to Council for acceptance and approval. Once the 
Design Concept Report has been completed, Buckeye will proceed with planning, design, right-of-way, 
utility relocation, if needed, and construction activities listed within the Design Concept Report. The 
Grants Team will identify other sources of funding to support the action items listed within the Design 
Concept Report. 
 
Objectives and Expected Outcomes  
  Objective is to complete the Design Concept Report for the Sun Valley Parkway Corridor and 
Interstate-10 interchange to guide future roadway improvements that address anticipated 
growth and traffic demand. 
  Expected outcomes include reducing congestion, improving traffic flow, and enhancing safety 
for residents, commuters, and regional travelers.  
 Ensure long-term mobility, support new housing and economic development along the Sun Valley 
Parkway Corridor and maintain reliable access to the only interchange along this critical 8-mile 
segment of Interstate 10.
