FY 2026 PM-10 Certified Street Sweeper Expansion Grant Application Program Summary Recap 
Project Description:   
• 
The City of Buckeye Public Works Department (BPW) needs two new PM-10 Certified Street Sweepers 
to ensure Buckeye’s streets are free of debris that may be harmful to the environment and humans. 
BPW seeks to replace one of their current street sweepers that is reaching the end of its useful life, as 
well as expand their current street sweeping service area as more streets have been added to the City’s 
portfolio. The street sweepers will service arterial, collector, and residential roadways. The grant 
request is for $438,111.18 with a required City match of $35,198.71. The total cost is $473,309.89.

Plans Once Grant Expires:  
• If awarded, the Award Agreement will be presented to Council for acceptance and approval. Any 
additional street sweeper needs will come from Buckeye Public Works’ (BPW) Budget account unless 
additional grant funding opportunities become available in which the Grants team will pursue.  
Objectives and Expected Outcomes  
• The objective is to support BPW’s Street Sweeping program by adding one new PM-10 Certified Street 
Sweeper to their fleet and replacing an eight-year-old sweeper which is reaching the end of its useful 
life.  
• The new replacement sweeper will initially reduce maintenance costs which, as of 9/25/2025, BPW 
has spent $99,030.34 for labor, parts, and outside labor to keep the 2017 sweeper running. The 2017 
sweeper has been out of service 35% of the time within the last 12 months, and the replacement 
sweeper will reduce these out-of-service times. 
• If awarded, the additional sweeper and replacement sweeper will ensure that BPW can continue to 
provide excellent service to the community by removing harmful debris from Buckeye’s streets.
