Council to take action on the request to approve a supplemental funds repurpose for the Police
Department.
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Police Department is seeking approval to procure a service monitor that is critical for the testing,
calibration, and ongoing maintenance of the public safety radios used by our Police and Fire
Departments. This equipment ensures that our communications systems remain compliant with
manufacturer specifications and operate at peak performance.
This investment directly supports the mission-critical operations of our public safety departments and
reinforces our commitment to maintaining a high standard of service for the community.
BENEFITS:
The selected service monitor package is specifically configured to support the Motorola radio models
currently deployed across both departments. By acquiring this device, we will gain the ability to perform
in-house diagnostics and calibration, which offers several key benefits:
Improved Reliability: Ensures that all radios used by first responders are functioning within
optimal parameters, reducing the risk of communication failures during emergency operations.
Cost Efficiency: Minimizes the need for outsourcing maintenance and calibration services,
resulting in long-term cost savings.
Operational Readiness: Enables quicker turnaround times for radio servicing, keeping more units
in the field and available for use.
Regulatory Compliance: Helps maintain compliance with industry standards and manufacturer
maintenance requirements, which is essential for warranty coverage and system integrity.

FUTURE ACTION:
Possible procurement of an additional module as expansion of service continues. 
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
Repurpose $39,000 from 10002124-541090 (CID Capital Equipment) to 10002121-541090 (Admin
Capital equipment), and transfer remaining $6,000 required from 10002121 521523 (Equipment).
