Presentation and discussion on the update of the Transportation Master Plan. (Approximate time: 45
minutes)
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The current City of Buckeye Transportation Master Plan (TMP) was adopted by City Council in 2019.
The updated TMP will continue to guide the City in the development of future transportation related items
– streets, freight, rail, aviation, transit, intelligent transportation system (ITS), and active transportation
(bike/pedestrian). The City of Buckeye retained Wilson & Company to prepare the update to the City’s
TMP. Beginning October 22nd, the document will be provided to the Public for a 30-day public review
period.
BENEFITS:
The updated Transportation Master Plan would provide guidance to the City, as well as developments, in
the planning, designing and construction of transportation facilities within Buckeye.
FUTURE ACTION:
Staff will bring the Transportation Master Plan back to Council for discussion and adoption at a future
meeting.
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
There is no financial impact associated with the plan update, as it was previously funded.
