Council to to take action to accept, approve, and execute the terms of a grant award from the Arizona
State Library, Archives and Public Records, State Grants-in-Aid Program, to support a portion of the
Buckeye library's Brainfuse database in the amount of $4,754, with a required match of $4,754 from the
City of Buckeye; and authorize the Mayor, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk to take the steps
necessary to carry out the terms of the grant award.
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The City of Buckeye has applied for and received an award for funding through the Arizona State Library,
Archives & Public Records - State Grants-in-Aid program in the amount of $4,754. The total project cost
is estimated at $9,508, with the City contributing a required $4,754 match. These funds will be used to
enhance library services by supporting the Brainfuse database.
Brainfuse database will provide the Buckeye community with equitable access to high-quality educational
and career resources. Through services such as live tutoring for K-12 and college students, adult
learning programs including GED preparation and citizenship support, and career services like resume
assistance and interview coaching, residents are equipped with tools to achieve academic success and
strengthen workforce readiness. The expected outcome is a more empowered community where
individuals of all ages have opportunities to advance their education, prepare for career growth, and
engage in lifelong learning.
BENEFITS:
Supporting the Brainfuse database provides the Buckeye community with valuable educational and
career resources. Brainfuse offers live tutoring for K-12 and college students, adult learning support such
as GED, citizenship preparation, and career services, including resume assistance and interview
coaching. By ensuring free and equitable access to these resources, the city helps promote academic
success, workforce readiness, and lifelong learning opportunities for all residents.
FUTURE ACTION:
Any costs or expenditure not covered by this funding will be supported through the Library's General
Fund, unless additional grant opportunities become available, which the Grants Team will actively
pursue.

The grant portion is $4,754. The match for this grant is $4,754. The total cost is $9,508.
