RESOLUTION NO. 68-25 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BUCKEYE, ARIZONA, 
RATIFYING AND APPROVING A SHOPPING CENTER RETAIL SHOP 
LEASE, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2025, BETWEEN THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE AND JOSE CORREA AND CAROLINA CORREA FOR A PERIOD 
OF ONE YEAR FOR CERTAIN PREMISES AT THE SUNDANCE 
CROSSINGS CENTER, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO 
EXECUTE AND DELIVER THE LEASE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF 
BUCKEYE. 
 
 
WHEREAS, on October 1, 2013, the City of Buckeye, as Landlord, and Jose Correa  
and Carolina Correa, as Tenant, entered into that certain Shopping Center Retail Shop Lease 
(“Original Lease”), relating to the lease of City premises located at Sundance Crossings, Suite 
104, 21765 W Yuma Road, Buckeye, Arizona, for use as a barber shop, doing business as K 
and K Barbershop; and 
 
WHEREAS, Article III, “Term”, of the Original Lease authorized Tenant an option to 
renew for a one (1) five-year period subject to certain terms and conditions; and 
 
WHEREAS, Tenant exercised the option to renew, and the parties entered into that 
certain Lease Extension Agreement effective June 1, 2018, for a five-year period, through 
September 30, 2023; and 
 
WHEREAS, following the expiration of the Original Lease, Tenant entered into a two-
year Lease agreement with the City for a period of two (2) years at the same premises; and 
 
WHEREAS, the two-year Lease expires September 30, 2025, and Tenant desires to 
enter into a Lease agreement with the City for a period of one (1) year, commencing October 1, 
2025, at the same premises. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF 
THE CITY OF BUCKEYE, ARIZONA, as follows:  
 
 
Section 1.  The recitals set forth above are hereby incorporated as if fully set forth 
herein. 
 
 
Section 2.  The Shopping Center Retail Shop Lease between the City of Buckeye and 
Jose Correa and Carolina Correa, D/B/A K and K Barbershop for a period of one (1) year for 
certain Premises at the Sundance Crossings Center is hereby approved in substantially the 
form and substance that accompanies this Resolution. 
 
 
Section 3.  The Mayor, City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney are hereby authorized 
and directed to cause the execution of the Lease and to take all steps necessary to carry out the 
purpose and intent of this Resolution.
