Council to take action on the Non-Profit Community Funding sub-committee's recommendations to
award funds to various non-profits that serve City of Buckeye residents.
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In the Fiscal Year 2026 budget, $124,000 was allocated to support non-profit organizations that provide
social services to Buckeye residents. Thirty-four applications were received requesting $384,172.60 in
total. After review, the subcommittee recommends awarding the available $124,000 to 19 non-profit
organizations.
The subcommittee members included Vice Mayor Craig Heustis, Councilmember Tony Youngker,
Councilmember Clay Goodman, Human Services Manager Krystian Zebrowski, and Permit Technician I
Maryellen Madden. The subcommittee recommends funding the following organizations:

BENEFITS:
This program provides local organizations with an opportunity to maintain or expand the services they
currently offer to Buckeye residents, delivering meaningful and economically valuable benefits to both
the community and the City.
FUTURE ACTION:
Upon Council approval, staff will submit check requests to the Finance Department. Award notifications
will be sent by email, with formal award letters and either paper checks or ACH payments (if available)
distributed to the funded organizations by October 1, 2025. Award recipients are required to provide a
complete financial accounting of the awarded funds by June 30, 2026, in order to remain eligible for
future funding opportunities. Organizations not selected for funding will be notified by email.
