ACTION/MOTION: (This language identifies the formal motion to be made by the Council) 
Council to take action on Resolution No. 65-25 approving the Transit Services Amendment between the
City of Buckeye and the Regional Public Transportation Authority dba Valley Metro (Contract #109-75-
2026-05-00), for the changes to the fixed route bus service costs; and authorizing the City Manager to
execute and deliver said Contract and related documents on behalf of the City of Buckeye.
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Valley Metro Route 563 will continue providing regionally funded fixed route express service from
the Buckeye Park-and-Ride to 17th Avenue/Jefferson Street on weekdays at no cost to the City.
The Valley Metro Route 685 will continue providing four short-trip bus services connecting the Buckeye
Community Center at Miller Road and Centre Avenue with the Coyote Branch Library/Sundance
Crossings at Yuma Road and Dean Road, with additional stops at Estrella Mountain Community College
and Watson Road. The service also includes “Flex Stop” options within three-quarters of a mile of the
route, available upon advance request.
This internal Buckeye 685 route will be partially funded by the City, with a City local match of $30,721.00,
divided into 12 monthly installments of $2,560.08. All fares will be established by Valley Metro, and no
cash handling will be required by the City.
The attached amendment addresses the following items for the Transit Services Agreement, Contract
#109-75-2026-05-00, for fiscal year 2026:
Schedule A: Replaces and supersedes Schedule A entered into on July 1, 2024.
Schedule B: Replaces and supersedes Schedule B entered into on July 1, 2024.
All other terms of the Transit Services Agreement dated July 1, 2020 (as amended annually
through 2024) remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
Route 563 is fully funded by Valley Metro at no cost to the City. Route 685 will be partially funded by the
City, with a City match of $30,721.00, divided into monthly installments of $2,560.08. All fares will be
established by Valley Metro, and no cash handling will be required by the City.
The City is also responsible for routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, tire replacement, and
related repairs under the terms of the agreement.
CURRENT FISCAL YEAR TOTAL COST:
The total cost for the City will be $30,721.00 from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
