FY25 STATUS REPORT
(August 2025)

Articles of Incorporation were filed in August 1988 as the Buckeye 
Main Street Program/BRAVO Inc. as non-profit organization.
The City entered into first MOU with Buckeye Main Street 
Coalition in 2010.
Community Services was assigned the liaison to Main Street in 
2012.  Economic Development assigned MOU in FY24.

Main Street America Pillars
ECONOMIC VITALITY
Focuses on capital incentives, and other economic 
and financial tools to assist new and existing 
businesses, catalyze property development, and 
create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs 
and innovators that drive local economies.  
ORGANIZATION
Involves creating a strong foundation for a 
sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating 
partnerships, community involvement, and resources 
for the district.
DESIGN
Supports a community’s transformation by enhancing 
the physical and visual assets that set the commercial 
district apart.
PROMOTION
Positions the downtown or commercial district as the 
center of the community and hub of economic 
activity, while creating a positive image that 
showcases a community’s unique characteristics.

A. Consult with the City in the review process for the Catalyst Program on a biannual basis.
• The Buckeye Main Street Coalition serves on the catalyst review committee. 
• Promoted Catalyst Program on their website, social, and in person visits with businesses. 
• They have reviewed 2 projects this fiscal year. 
• FY24:  6 Catalyst Applications reviewed
B. Apply for grant opportunities that support the execution of Main Street’s Business Plan, specific to advancing the     
     Downtown Specific Area Plan (DSAP), and grant opportunities that diversify Main Street’s revenue sources.
• The Buckeye Main Street Coalition applied for two organization grants and received one award:
• The Mavericks Community Grant
• APS Grant (Received) 
• Two Board Members attended a Grant Workshop series in February hosted by National Main Street.
• FY24:  Applied for one grant; received APS grant for $5,000. Utilized Grant Station to assist with search. 
• Mirna’s Place Sponsored gifts valued at $800 for Earth Day & the BMSC sponsored Old Town Buckeye Bucks
2.1 ECONOMIC VITALITY

A. Serve as consultants to the City on the tasks set forth in the DSAP (specifically those tasks whereby Main Street is 
identified as a contributing organization).Consult with City staff and support City communications and engagement of 
downtown businesses in the DSAP process.
• Attended monthly meetings with city staff. Discussions specific to BMSC contributing tasks regarding the DSAP; 
which includes updates, idea sharing, and project planning.
• Attended Downtown Streetscape community meetings.  Positively supported the restriping initiative on Facebook 
and in person. 
 B.  Serve as consultants to the City on the development of an art/mural program, specifically as it relates to Downtown      
       Buckeye.
• Provided marketing and logistics support for the city’s “Past and Present Art Walk” which featured over 100 
pieces of art in 11 businesses. 
• Served as a stakeholder for the City’s vinyl wraps on electrical boxes. 
• Began conversations with the City’s Arts & Culture Manager regarding ideas and previous art program details, 
developed by BMSC, that were in BMSC archives. 
2.2 DESIGN

A. Host an annual shop small program which engages businesses in Downtown Buckeye on Shop Small Saturday.
• Shop Small was held on November 26th at 10 am. 
• Hundreds of participants.  175 bags were distributed, each with $20 Old Town Buckeye Bucks (OTBB). Promotional 
materials and coupons for local businesses. A scavenger hunt whereby awarded 3 prizes of $100ea.
• Mirna’s Place Sponsored gifts valued at $800 for Earth Day & the BMSC sponsored Old Town Buckeye Bucks.
• Continuing to refine how to collect data on ROI for Old Town Buckeye Bucks program. 
• FY24:  125 participants, 175 bags distributed. 
B. Market and promote Downtown Buckeye businesses and events, which may include:
i.
Maintaining buckeyemainstreet.org website and social media channels
• In the process of updating the heritage portion of the website to assist with the QR code program’s launch. 
• Have a social media consultant that’s assisting with managing and posting on Facebook. 
• Facebook followers - FY25: 4,100, FY24: 3,903 and Instagram followers – FY25: 2,000, FY24:1,812
2.3 PROMOTION

ii.    Marketing to be inclusive of Downtown Buckeye businesses included within the geographic area of the DSAP Core 
as identified in the DSAP in effect as of the Effective Date of this Second Renewal
• Posted a minimum of 3x a week on Facebook to feature DSAP businesses, special events, organizations and 
nonprofits. 
• Distributed Old Town business directory QR code handbill.  
iii. Promoting unique characteristics of Downtown Buckeye and its businesses through the development and launch of a 
Downtown Buckeye Tour Program that highlights businesses, any significance of their buildings, and attracts consumers 
to shop and explore Downtown Buckeye (QR Code program)
 
• BMSC has identified five (5) buildings that will start the QR code tour program. The program is outlined and will roll 
out the program when the updates to the website are completed. 
2.3 PROMOTION CONT.

C. Main Street may utilize the City’s rotation on the Digital Billboard located near Miller Road and I-10 for a City approved 
Downtown Buckeye marketing campaign. Main Street’s use of the City’s rotation on the Digital Billboard shall be for 
one(1)thirty (30) day period annually at no cost to Main Street
• “Visit Downtown Buckeye” Billboard featured in the month of March. FY25: 63k spots, 684k impressions
D. During the term of this Second Renewal, Main Street may host one (1) activity/event at 6th Street Plaza and one (1) 
activity/event at the City Hall east parking lot at no rental cost to Main Street.
• Earth Day took place on April 19, 2025 in the City Hall parking lot. Event sponsored by the City who provided the 
shredder at no cost. 70 vehicles utilized the shredder. FY:24 50 vehicles.  110 attendees participated in clean up 
project. FY24: 125 attendees
• Art Walk was anticipated to be in March.  Main Street directed efforts away from the Art Walk towards supporting 
the city’s “Past and Present Art Walk”
2.3 PROMOTION CONT.

A. Host two (2) small business courses, seminars or mixers directed at issues facing Downtown Buckeye businesses.
•
Leadership West Lunch and Learn in February: Sponsored 6 businesses/non-profits and 3 board members to attend 
•
Business Mixer in March: 9 businesses attended.  Offered food and beverages as a “taste of Old Town” experience. 
B. Main Street to develop, adopt, and execute a Strategic Plan for the Main Street organization. In addition to the items typical 
of a Strategic Plan and that of specific interest to Main Street, the Strategic Plan shall specifically outline the following items, 
which are geared towards achieving a sustainable organization for the future:
i.
Identifying and securing diverse revenue sources outside of city funding, including but not limited to securing grants, 
sponsorships, memberships, etc. 
ii.
Building a complete and diverse Board of Directors and filling all Director seats as outlined in the Main Street Bylaws
iii.
Identifying an action plan for engagement of Downtown Businesses to ensure Main Street is engaging with, receiving 
feedback, supporting, and representative of Downtown Buckeye businesses. 
•
Strategic Plan in process.
•
Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws were updated this year and have been approved by Board.   
2.4 ORGANIZATION

Main Street engaged in additional activities throughout the year, including: 
•
Supported Mexican Independence Day (September): Provided event organization, guidance, and essential amenities 
like portable restrooms and sinks. 
•
Supported Dove Hunt (September): Attended planning meetings.  Provided QR Handbills for goodie bags. Assisted 
with coordinating Bingo event which raised approx. $4,800 for Wildlife Conservation. 
•
Leased Land:
•
Hobo Joe Square: BSMC entered land lease with private landowner with vision to activate space. 
•
1888 Square: BSMC entered a land lease and have begun design concepts to revitalize the space and activate it 
with programming. Will also be available for licensing for public and private events. 
•
First Friday Events:  Events Nov (250 attendees), Dec (350), Jan (700), Feb (450), April (450), and May (300).  Provided 
marketing support.
•
City Events: Hosted a booth at the Halloween Event and assisted in planning and logistical support.
