2025 Library Services and Technology Act Grant Award - Summary Recap 
Project Description:   
The City of Buckeye’s Community Services Department seeks to develop and implement a Virtual Reality 
Learning and Exploration Program for the Buckeye Public Library. The grant supports the purchase of 10 
Virtual Reality headsets, accessories, and various software programs to be available for use by the public. 
The Virtual Reality headsets will facilitate creative and divergent learning in Science, Technology, 
Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), as well as workforce development, cultural exploration, and 
interactive entertainment. The grant covers a 12-month period.

$ 27,133.75 ($8,000.00 Reimbursable based on budget)

Any additional Virtual Reality Learning and Exploration Program funding needs will come from the 
Community Services General Fund account unless additional grant funding opportunities become 
available, in which case the Grants team will pursue.  
Objectives and Expected Outcomes  
 
The objective is to expand and enhance the Buckeye Public Library’s program offerings to the public. 
Community members will benefit by gaining hands-on access to emerging technology, enhanced digital 
literacy, and engaging in unique learning experiences. Virtual Reality technology may also aid individuals 
who face difficulties learning through traditional methods. By immersing the user into a virtual reality 
learning environment, the activities become more interactive, leading to a potential increase in 
information retention.
