Council to take action Resolution No. 38-25 ordering the work as described in Resolution No. 37-25 and
forming City of Buckeye Street Lighting Improvement District No. SLID-2025-006; and ordering the

SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Per Resolution No. 38-25, this request is for the creation of a Street Light Improvement District (SLID)
No. SLID-2025-006 for the Avalon Jackrabbit development and ordering the recording and filing of this
Resolution
BENEFITS:
Street Lighting Improvement Districts (SLIDs) and Maintenance Improvement Districts (MIDs) are
implemented to maintain a balance between revenue and expenditures, ensuring a high quality of life for
residents and property owners within a development without imposing and undue burden upon the
broader community. SLIDs specifically fund the purchase of energy (not its generation), ensuring that
only those who directly benefit from community lighting bear the associated costs. This structure
guarantees consistent funding for these expenses while preventing the City from incurring costs through
its Highway User Revenue Fund.
FUTURE ACTION:
A budget and further Council action will take place at the beginning of the next fiscal year to implement
this District.
