Council to take action to approve and ratify the Sublease of Lease Agreement, by and between the City
of Buckeye, an Arizona municipal corporation, and Mirna's Place, Inc., an Arizona nonprofit corporation.  
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In June 2025 the City of Buckeye entered into a lease agreement with Arizona Public Service Company
(APS) for property owned by APS. The leased premises include a main building with office space and
warehouse, and a trailer. The City desires to enter into a Sublease Agreement with Mirna's Place, Inc., a
nonprofit corporation, to sublease these premises for a 58-month term with the possibility of an additional
60-month renewal term based on the terms and conditions of the Lease and Sublease. This sublease is
intended to allocate additional space for operations by a non-profit business known as Mirna's Place.
Mirna's Place is currently operating in subleased property known as Rodeo Grounds. By virtue of the
Sublease, Mirna's Place, Inc. assumes the city's obligation under the original lease. Mirna's Place has
provided proof of insurance and has named the City of Buckeye as an additional insured under the
general commercial liability policy held by Mirna's Place, Inc.  The annual rental amount is $1.00. 
BENEFITS:
Mirna's Place, Inc., is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bridge the gap between people,
businesses, and organizations to address the greatest needs of the community. The work of Mirna's
Place is beneficial to the public and City of Buckeye residents.
