Project Description:   
The City of Buckeye seeks to address the current non-native invasive plants and noxious weeds that are 
negatively impacting Skyline Regional Park’s ecological health through the submission of a grant 
application that supports the removal of the non-native invasive plants and noxious weeds to maintain 
Skyline Regional Park’s ecological health and beauty. The grant request is $200,000 with a $27,101 
required City of Buckeye match.

Plans Once Grant Expires:  
 After all grant funds have been expended, any future maintenance for this invasive species 
prevention, control, and eradication will become a part of the Community Services Department’s 
budget, unless future grant opportunities arise, which the City will pursue. 
 
Objectives and Expected Outcomes  
 This grant, if awarded, will jump-start the removal of non-native invasive plants and noxious 
weeds, which will improve the ecological health and beauty of Skyline Regional Park, as well as 
provide safe and enjoyable visitor experiences while inspiring conservation of natural resources 
and cultural heritage.  
 The removal of these plants and weeds will free up vital resources for native vegetation of 
Skyline Regional Park, allowing native plants to thrive.
