ACTION/MOTION: (This language identifies the formal motion to be made by the Council) 
Council to take action on Resolution No. 28-25 establishing the 2025 Citizen Water and Wastewater
Rate Committee to advise and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the implementation
and adoption of water and wastewater rates; adopting By-Laws for the Committee; temporarily
suspending the provisions of Article 2-4-7 of the City Code; and providing for the automatic termination of
said Committee.
SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
To consider the potential authorization of water and wastewater rate increases, Buckeye is establishing a
2025 Water/Wastewater Rate Committee. The committee will consist of a group of volunteer
stakeholders, residents and business leaders operating under the authority of the proposed by-laws and
will facilitate the development of recommendations on potential increases to water and wastewater
system operations and their impact. 
BENEFITS:
This process ensures transparency, community engagement, and long-term sustainability of Buckeye’s
critical water infrastructure.
FUTURE ACTION:
Appointment of the 2025 Citizen Water/Wastewater Rate Committee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT:
There is no direct budget impact associated with the creation of this committee.
