FY 2026 Maricopa County Community Action Program Application - Summary Recap
Project Description
The City of Buckeye’s Community Services Department seeks to continue its partnership with the Maricopa 
County Community Action Program. The program provides support that fosters self-sufficiency and stability 
through limited, temporary assistance with utility costs and eviction prevention, information and referral 
resources, and short-term case management for residents. The City of Buckeye Community Services 
Department requested $165,000 from the Maricopa County Community Action Program, and if awarded, the 
City of Buckeye is required to contribute at least a 25% match. Buckeye will contribute an in-kind match of 
$282,228 through normal budgeted items such as personnel and operating expenses, which have been 
budgeted for FY 2026.

If awarded, the Award Agreement will be presented to Council for acceptance and approval. Any 
additional funding needs will come from the Community Services General Fund account unless additional 
grant funding opportunities become available, in which case the Grants team will pursue.
Objectives and Expected Outcomes 
The objective is to extend the City of Buckeye’s partnership with the Maricopa County Community 
Action Program to provide support to residents in Buckeye. The program provides support that fosters 
self-sufficiency and stability through limited, temporary assistance with utility costs and eviction 
prevention, information and referral resources, and short-term case management for residents.
