ATTACHMENT D Program Information Summaries Coaching Institute On January 16, an Education Specialist led a Coaching Institute session with 22 coaches to enhance their ability to interpret and utilize data from new assessment reports, thereby improving their coaching interactions with teachers. Coaches gained confidence and developed skills in using these reports during coaching conversations. Arizona College of Nursing Partnership In January, the Head Start program partnered with the Arizona College of Nursing, welcoming fourteen nursing students for a two-week rotation at Deer Valley Early Head Start. They assist teachers and support children by engaging in educational activities, encouraging healthy life skills, offering emotional support, fostering a safe environment for children, and promoting parental involvement. Their contributions enrich the learning setting and support children's well-being and school readiness. Health Trainings On January 15 and 22, the Head Start Birth to Five Health Specialist conducted training sessions for a total of 25 parents at Sunridge and Sun Canyon Elementary schools. The sessions covered schools' sick policies, illness prevention strategies, handwashing techniques, and Head Start health requirements, including medical exams, online registration, and health-related questions. Participants received a digital thermometer donated by Blue Cross/Blue Shield to take home.
