The Apache Junction Police Department has 
existing partnerships with each of these 
organizations.  These agreements are renewals 
of those established partnerships

Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force (VTTF)
     -  Is a statewide multi-agency unit led by the Arizona 
          Department of Public Safety (AZDPS)
    Mission and Purpose
       - Apprehend criminal offenders and traffickers involved in stolen
          vehicles and related crimes, including:
 
 
 
   Stolen vehicle trafficking  
   Chop shops
 
 
 
   Parts theft 
 
 
 
 
   Recycled metal theft 
 
 
 
   Border-related vehicle theft

Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement
      Mission (GIITEM)
      
-  Is a statewide multi-agency unit led by the Arizona Department of
                 Public Safety (AZDPS) Gang Enforcement Bureau 
    Mission and Purpose
       - Deter criminal gang activity through investigations, arrests, and prosecutions.
 
- Dismantle gang-related criminal enterprises.
 
- Deter border-related crimes/disrupt human smuggling organizations.
 
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate gang and illegal immigration intelligence.
 
- Provide anti-gang awareness training to communities and schools.

Arizona Child Abduction Response Team (AZCART)
      
-  Is a specialized, multi-agency group of professionals trained to 
                 respond quickly to cases involving missing or abducted children
    
 
Purpose and Importance
       Designed to ensure a rapid and comprehensive community response to child
 
abductions or endangered missing child incidents.  A significant percentage of
 
abducted children are harmed within the first few hours of abduction,
 
highlighting the critical need for immediate, coordinated action.  
 
 
CARTs provide a structured approach to reduce delays in notification and
 
investigation, in creasing the likelihood of safe recovery.
