RESOLUTION R26-09-18 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL MIRAGE, ARIZONA, APPROVING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH MARICOPA COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT – HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIVISION TO ACCEPT FY2027 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Maricopa County Housing and Community Development Division is an authorized entitlement manager for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) fund issued to cities with a population under 50,000 in Maricopa County, Arizona; and WHEREAS, the City of El Mirage has a population under 50,000 and qualifies to apply for and accept community development funding through the Maricopa County Housing and Community Development Division, as part of the Urban County; and WHEREAS, the purpose of CDBG funding is to make community development improvements primarily to benefit low to moderate-income populations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of El Mirage, in Maricopa County, Arizona, that the City is hereby authorized to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement for services between Maricopa County, administered by its Human Services Department, and accept CDBG funds for: El Mirage Original Town Site Roadway Improvements $436,547.00 A. The FY2027 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds will be used to complete the resurfacing of the streets in the original town site of El Mirage, stormwater upgrades, and ADA sidewalk improvements in the same area. B. The City Manager or the designee of the City Manager is authorized to execute required CBDG Certifications, Management Implementation Agreements (MIA), and other required documents.
