City staff respectfully requests city council consideration of award of contract to M.R. Tanner 
Construction for project no. HFS26-13 for the asphalt concrete overlay of Ironwood Dr. from 
Elliot Ave. to Guadalupe Ave. for a not to exceed amount of $598,390.10 including 10% 
contingency for unforeseens.  Project is budgeted for this fiscal year through the Pinal County 
half-cent road excise tax monies dedicated for the purpose of street maintenance. 
 
This work was discussed with council at the June 15, 2026 City Council regular session under 
Public Works’ “Fiscal Year 2027 CIP & Street Maintenance Plan.” The work involves the 
rehabilitation of the north-bound lanes through a mill and asphalt concrete overlay of Ironwood 
Dr. from Elliot Ave. to Guadelupe Ave.  The work will last for about four days within the 
September-October 2026 timeframe.  Work would occur during the daytime hours characterized 
by a single roadway lane closure.  This work will not result in any full street closure.
