ORDINANCE G- 
 
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP 
ADOPTED PURSUANT TO SECTION 601 OF THE CITY OF 
PHOENIX ZONING ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE ZONING 
DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION FOR THE PARCEL DESCRIBED 
HEREIN (CASE Z-34-26-3) FROM R-4 (MULTI-FAMILY 
RESIDENCE DISTRICT) TO R-4 HP (MULTI-FAMILY 
RESIDENCE DISTRICT, HISTORIC PRESERVATION).

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHOENIX, as 
follows: 
SECTION 1. The zoning of a 1.13-acre site located on the northwest 
corner of 8th Street and Townley Avenue in a portion of Section 33, Township 3 North, 
Range 3 East, as described more specifically in Exhibit “A,” is hereby changed from “R-
4” (Multi-Family Residence District) to “R-4 HP” (Multi-Family Residence District, 
Historic Preservation)” to create a Historic Preservation Overlay for Acacia Library. 
SECTION 2. The Planning and Development Director is instructed to 
modify the Zoning Map of the City of Phoenix to reflect this use district classification 
change as shown in Exhibit “B”.

SECTION 3. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or 
portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the 
decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity 
of the remaining portions hereof.  
PASSED by the Council of the City of Phoenix this 9th day of September

That part of the Northwest quarter of Section 33, Township 3 North, Range 3 East, 
G&SRB&M, described as follows:  
 
COMMENCING at the Northwest corner of said Section 33;  
 
thence Southerly along the West line of said Section 33, being also the monument line 
of existing 7th Street, to its intersection with the monument line of Townley Avenue;  
 
thence South 89° 59' 57" East along the monument line (basis of bearings) of said 
Townley Avenue, a distance of 534.09 feet;  
 
thence North 00° 01' 50" East a distance of 25.00 feet to the North right of way line of 
said Townley Avenue, and the POINT OF BEGINNING;  
 
thence continuing North 00° 01' 50" East a distance of 185.30 feet;  
 
thence South 89° 51' 11" East a distance of 211.50 feet;  
 
thence South 00° 03' 36" East a distance of 174.76 feet;
