The City Council of the City of Mesa met for a Special Council meeting in the Study Session room at City
Hall, 20 East Main Street, on August 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

Mayor Freeman conducted a roll call.
1-a.
Canvassing, declaring, and adopting the results of the Primary Election held on July 21, 2026.
(Citywide). – Resolution No. 12562
It was moved by Vice Mayor Somers, seconded by Councilmember Duff, that Resolution No.
12562 be adopted.
Upon tabulation of votes, it showed:
AYES – Freeman–Somers–Adams–Duff–Goforth–Heredia–Taylor
NAYS – None
Carried unanimously.
1-b.
Approving and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a development agreement, government
property improvement lease, and other deal documents to facilitate the development of an AC
Hotel by Marriott on the property located at the northeast corner of Main Street and Centennial
Way. (District 4). – Resolution No. 12561
It was moved by Councilmember Duff, seconded by Councilmember Adams, that Resolution No.
125621 be adopted.

Carried unanimously.
