RESOLUTION NO. 6038 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, 
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING PROJECT AGREEMENT NO. 1-CHN-27-RTP-060 
BETWEEN MARICOPA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS AND THE 
CITY OF CHANDLER FOR PROPOSITION 479 REIMBURSEMENTS FOR 
THE CONSTRUCTION OF KYRENE ROAD: LOOP 202 TO NORTH OF 
CHANDLER BOULEVARD 
 
WHEREAS, the voters of Maricopa County approved a regional half-cent sales tax to fund the 
Regional Transportation Plan; and  
 
WHEREAS, the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) has been designated as the 
regional planning agency for the Arterial Life Cycle Program portion of the Regional 
Transportation Plan; and  
 
WHEREAS, the Kyrene Road: Loop 202 to North of Chandler Boulevard improvement project is 
an approved project in the Arterial Life Cycle Program portion of the Regional Transportation 
Plan; and  
 
WHEREAS, the Policies and Procedure of the Arterial Life Cycle Program require a Project 
Agreement between the City of Chandler and MAG for each approved project prior to 
reimbursement; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler will use local funds in the Kyrene Road: Loop 202 to North of 
Chandler Boulevard improvement project and is programmed to receive reimbursement from the 
Arterial Life Cycle Program portion of the Regional Transportation Plan; and  
 
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler is programmed to receive $14,247,515.04 for the right-of-way, 
design and construction phases of this project, which amount is subject to modification for inflation 
as approved by the MAG Regional Council; 
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
authorizing the Mayor to sign and execute said project agreement on behalf of the City of Chandler, 
and any future modifications for inflation as may be approved by the MAG Regional Council.
