RESOLUTION NO. R2026-014 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YUMA, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH YUMA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SPEED BEACONS WHEREAS, the City of Yuma (“City”) and the Yuma Elementary School District One (“District”) are authorized by A.R.S. § 11-952 et seq. to enter into intergovernmental agreements (IGA) for the joint exercise of any power common to the contracting parties; and, WHEREAS, the District desires to use certain parts of the City’s right of way for the installation, operation, and maintenance of variable speed flashing beacons (“Speed Beacons”) to increase driver awareness as students are using crosswalks proximate to District schools; and, WHEREAS, the City is willing to install up to eight (8) Speed Beacons and the District is willing to operate and maintain the Speed Beacons under the terms and conditions of the IGA attached. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Yuma as follows: SECTION 1: The attached IGA is approved in accordance with its terms.
