Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Grants
FFY 2027

This process was thoughtful, thorough and included multiple aspects of City Government. This started when I first came aboard in November 2023.
A group including City Management, Finance, Legal and the Police Department met multiple times to go over the Request for Proposal (RFP) prior to its release. Scoring the accepted proposals
occurred over 3 days and was done individually by the scorers based on criteria set forth in the RFP.
GOHS DUI Grant
• Awarded $40,000.00 to fund DUI enforcement overtime
expenses.
• This grant is made available every year and AJPD has a
long history of utilizing it.

• Awarded $25,000.00 to fund traffic enforcement
overtime expenses.
• This grant is made available every year and AJPD has a
long history of utilizing it.

safety enforcement overtime expenses and purchase one
Trek Electric Police Bicycle.

• Awarded $7,000.00 to fund car seat and seatbelt safety
enforcement overtime expenses.

In Closing:
• GOHS has awarded the City a total of $83,800.00 in
reimbursable enforcement overtime funding.
• Staff is requesting approval to move forward and begin
utilizing this grant award.
