award funds to various non-profits that serve City of Buckeye residents.

SUMMARY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In the FY2027 budget $124,000 is allocated for non-profit organizations that provide social services to
residents in the City of Buckeye. Forty-seven applications were received, requesting $478,857
collectively. The applications were reviewed by a subcommittee comprised of elected officials,
community members and staff including Councilmember Tony Youngker, Councilmember Craig Heustis,
Councilmember Jamaine Berry, Latter-day Saints Community Outreach Michelle Neal, and Maryellen
Madden, Retired Supervisory Internal Revenue Agent at U.S. Department of the Treasury. The
subcommittee recommends the funding of the following organizations listed below:

BENEFITS:
This program provides local organizations an opportunity to maintain or expand services they currently
provide to Buckeye residents. These organizations will provide various benefits to the city.
FUTURE ACTION:
Upon Council approval, staff will submit check requests to the Finance Department. Notifications and
checks will be mailed to the awarded organizations starting October 7, 2026. Awarded organizations are
required to give a complete financial accounting of the awarded funds by June 30, 2027, to be eligible for
future funds. Organizations not selected will be notified by email and/or mail.
