GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR THE STRATEGIC PLAN FOCUS AREAS: Infrastructure SUMMARY PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The five proposed City of Buckeye Water Policies: "Water Conservation," "Use of Reclaimed Water," " Water Acquisition and Funding," Strategic Water Planning," and "Water Allocations for Designations of Assured Water Supply" serve to ratify current practices and ensure future operations and decisions consistently further the city’s mission to sustainability. The Water Conservation policy establishes the relationship between itself, the Conservation Code, and the Conservation Plan. The Use of Reclaimed Water formally adopts the city’s commitment to maximizing the use and management of the city’s reclaimed water. The Water Acquisition and Funding policy establishes best practices for expanding the City’s portfolio with a balanced and sustainable budget. The Strategic Water Planning policy affirms the city’s commitment to competent water planning and growing smartly. The Water Allocations for Designations of Assured Water Supply policy sets the framework for how water allocations in future designated areas are allocated to the current and future customer bases. BENEFITS: Ratifying the City's approaches and commitment to effective water supply management and sustainability and allows for clear communication with the community and stakeholders. FUTURE ACTION: None. FINANCIAL IMPACT STATEMENT: This item does not pose a direct financial impact. These Policies will frame and direct future financial water focused decision making.
